The paper that coined the term 'psychological safety'. Rogers argued that creativity requires two external conditions: psychological safety — established through unconditional worth, absence of external evaluation, and empathic understanding — and psychological freedom. Predates Schein & Bennis by eleven years and Kahn by 36.
